Guelph Little Theatre has presented outstanding amateur theatrical productions to Guelph and surrounding communities for over 70 years. Starting with a simple play reading group that met monthly, GLT's first production, Yellow Sands, was staged in November 1935 by an enthusiastic 300-member group who loved live theatre. Over the past several decades, GLT has earned a reputation for producing shows of the highest calibre, both artistically and technically. Dramas, comedies, musicals, full-length plays and one-acts; Guelph Little Theatre has done them all, and has won many, many awards at both the Western Ontario Drama League and Theatre Ontario festivals.
Guelph Little Theatre is run by a volunteer Board of Directors and is operated completely by volunteers.
Catherine has volunteered as a Theater Facilitator at the Project Wisdom of the Immigrant Services Canada. It was a theater workshop that aims to promote confidence and camaraderie among the senior community in Guelph through performance. She had also conducted team building workshops at her present company in Guelph,ON. Together with her fellow theater enthusiasts, they have formed a play reading group that reads and discusses stage plays written by local and international playwrights every month. She is also one of the official volunteer photographers of the Canadian Cancer Society Wellington Unit.
